Eagle Scout Candidate Hosts Lecture on Hurricane Preparedness
In recent weeks, Boy Scout Joseph Maksym has been hard at work trying to spread the word about an upcoming lecture on hurricane preparedness, which he has planned for the benefit of the local community. Maksym, who is hosting the program as his Eagle Scout project, has announced the event to several community organizations. The lecture will take place in the auditorium of Unqua School, 350 Unqua Road, Massapequa on April 3 at 7:30 p.m.

GLIRC Trail Relay Celebrates End of Winter
Over 200 runners joined the Greater Long Island Running Club (GLIRC) on March 11 for the fourth annual 3x2 Mile Trail Relay hosted by the club and its men's racing team. Everyone was treated to a great cross country course, dozens of prizes, T-shirts courtesy of Relay Sponsor Super Runners Shop, a special post-race buffet, (the GLIRC Field Kitchen,) courtesy of Whitson's Foods and GLIRC's own head chef Bill Whitcomb, with assistance from chef Bill Meisner). Best of all, the event was free.

Telecare Hosts Golf Classic May 21
Many of Long Island's leading business executives and friends of Telecare gathered recently at the organization's headquarters in Uniondale to initiate plans for Telecare's 21st Annual Golf Classic to be held May 21. Morton S. Bouchard, III, president, Bouchard Transportation Company, Inc., has been named honoree and Joseph Dussich, Jr., chairman and CEO, JAD Corporation of America, has been designated chairperson for this year's event, said Monsignor Thomas J. Hartman, director of radio and television for Telecare.
