On March 17 and 18, the American Black Belt Academy along with the Worldwide Kenpo Karate Association, will host the American Karate Championships. The tournament will be held at Massapequa High School and is open to spectators of the community. Competitors from throughout the country will be there showing their Karate expertise.

The tournament will begin Saturday evening at 6 p.m. with team demonstrations, team sparring and self-defense divisions. On Sunday, the competition will start again at 10 a.m. with forms, weapons and sparring divisions.

Admission for this exciting event is $5 for adults and $2 for children. Children under five will be admitted free.

In addition, the American Black Belt Academy will be holding a food drive at the tournament for the outreach program at St. Rose. Families attending are asked to bring a donation of non-perishable food that will be collected at the entrance door.
