On behalf of the Plainedge Public Schools, we would like to express our appreciation to the entire Plainedge community for their support of our bond proposition.

We are especially grateful to our PTA, community groups and sports organizations, the faculty and support staff, and our building administrators for taking our message to colleagues, neighbors and friends. This collective effort helped us spread the word to residents in the community.

The bond issue will fund additions and renovations to Plainedge High School, and our three elementary schools, and the construction of a new middle school at our Northedge site. Work on the elementary additions will begin as soon as possible. We hope to have the new kindergarten additions ready for September 2001 occupancy. We believe these enhanced facilities will provide an educational environment which will serve the academic needs of our students for many years to come.

We also express our appreciation to the staff of the Massapequan Observer, particularly editor Andrea Morale, for your thorough reporting of events leading up to the vote.
