On Saturday, Aug. 12, the Massapequa Fire Department will be hosting their 6th Annual Emergency Services Canoe Race Challenge. The race consists of a two mile course over the Great South Bay, from John J. Burns Park and ending in John Burns Park in Massapequa. Massapequa School Board President Arlene Martin took time out this past Wednesday to distribute T-shirts to youngsters participating in the Massapequa Summer Baseball Group at Ames.
