    On Aug. 28, Tom and Lorraine LoVarco from the American Black Belt Academy in Massapequa Park will bring their amazing karate demo team to Burns Park to host a fund raiser for Christina Cowan. The event is scheduled to begin at 7:30 p.m. on the front ballfield. FULL STORY

  • NEWS: Fire Department Canoe Race Saturday Will Benefit Christina Cowan

    On Saturday, Aug. 12, the Massapequa Fire Department will be hosting their 6th Annual Emergency Services Canoe Race Challenge. The race consists of a two mile course over the Great South Bay, from John J. Burns Park and ending in John Burns Park in Massapequa. Anyone daring enough to enter this race will receive a complimentary race day tee-shirt and tickets good for hot dogs, soda and other refreshments at the end of the race. FULL STORY

    Massapequa School Board President Arlene Martin took time out this past Wednesday to distribute T-shirts to youngsters participating in the Massapequa Summer Baseball Group at Ames. Athletes ages 6 to 18 take part in the popular camp which runs in one-week sessions from July 10 until Aug. 11. FULL STORY
