Village Acquires 2+ Acre Property on Chestnut Street
Citing it as one of the most important things that the Village of Massapequa Park has done in the past year, Mayor Camillo Giannattasio, at the Jan. 10 village board meeting, announced the purchase of a 2.08 acre piece of property on E. Chestnut Street.

Ice Skating Season Under Way at Cantiague Park
The ice skating season is now in full swing at the indoor rink at Cantiague park in Hicksville, Nassau County Executive Thomas S. Gulotta has announced. The rink will provide daily sessions of recreational skating for Nassau County residents and their guests.

Cheers for the MHS Football Team
The Massapequa High School Varsity Football Team was recently treated to an end of the year dinner by the Booster Club. The club extended three cheers to All County players Eric Romeo and Ray Cole, and Honorable Mention Player Vinny D'Agostino; All Conference players Peter Calvello and Jimmy Robertson, Academic All Conference Ray Cole and Peter Calvello, and the three seniors chosen for the Exceptional Senior Game at Hofstra University - Ray Cole, Vinny D'Agostino and Eric Romeo. The Nassau County Conference I award for Unsung Hero went to Massapequa's own Richard Maglione.
