John A. Dennen Jr., 38, of Bolton Landing, formerly of Massapequa , died on Oct. 28, 1999. Born in 1960 in NYC, he graduated from Massapequa High School. He was a marine mechanic and power boat racer. Husband of Rose Virginia. Father of Katelyn Rose. Son of Stella Anaston and John A. Sr. Stepson of Henry Anaston and Maureen Dennen. Brother of Greg Dennen. Uncle of Jeremy and Jonna Dennen-Miner. Also survived by one stepsister, three stepbrothers and two aunts. Funeral services were held in Bolton Landing. Contributions can be made to New Approaches to Brain Tumor Treatments, Johns Hopkins Hospital Oncology Center, Room 129, 600 N. Wolfe St., Baltimore, MD 21287.

Grace Anner, 78, of Naples, FL, died on Nov. 11, 1999. Ms. Anner began her career as a school nurse at the Massapequa Avenue School after serving in the US Army Nurse Corp. during WWII. She received her RN degree from Mary Immaculate Hospital School of Nursing and a master's degree from NYU.

As the district supervisor, Ms. Anner organized the Dept. of School Nurses. She provided professional leadership as the district grew from one school with 600 pupils to the largest district in Nassau County serving 17,100 students in 11 schools.

In the early years of her tenure she served as Massapequa High School nurse as well as chief school nurse for the district.

After retiring in the mid '70s, she moved to Naples, FL. Ms. Anner was a life member of the Salvation Army and a member of St. John the Evangelist, Naples. She served as a volunteer at Naples Community Hospital for many years.

She is survived by her sister, Maureen and brother-in-law, Anthony Giordano; her brother James Anner; and many nieces, nephews and close friends.
