Supporting Wheelchair Athletics
Through the efforts of Assemblyman Steven Labriola, the Greater Long Island Athletic Club has received a legislative initiative grant in the amount of $2,500 to help support its growing program of promoting wheelchair athletics here on Long Island. The money will be used to defray the costs of the club-sponsored Wheelchair Championship 10 Kilometer Race that is held in Farmingdale every June, and to help coordinate Long Island's program with a national effort to strengthen wheelchair athletic programs.
