Assemblyman Steve Labriola (R - Massapequa) has announced the allocation of a $223,738 comprehensive tourism matching grant to the Long Island Convention and Visitors Bureau to help fund programs that enhance the tourism industries on Long Island. Labriola said grants were given statewide to local tourism promotion agencies.
"Tourism has always played a vital role to Long Island's economy," said Labriola. "This funding will help market Long Island's unique cultural and historic identity in a way that will contribute to our area's overall economic well-being."
The program, operated by the Empire State Development Corporation's (ESD) Division of Tourism, which administers the "I Love NY" campaign, provides funding for related marketing, advertising and public relations functions.
