American Re-Fuel Environmental Engineer Scott Wheeler joined the Plainedge Lightning in celebrating its second place victory in the 11th Annual American Ref-Fuel East Meadow Soccer Tournament, which drew some 400 teams from as far away as Connecticut and upstate New York.

More than 6,000 boys and girls between the ages of nine and 18 participated this year, the largest number the tounament has ever attracted. During the three day event, the teams were cheered on by 25,000 spectators.

As part of its commitment to the Long Island community, American Ref-Fuel has been the major corporate sponsor of the event for the past 10 years.
