George Blank Sr., 81, formerly of Massapequa, died on Sept. 4, 1999. Father of Gayle and George Jr. Grandfather of three. Great-grandfather of two. No services were held.
James J. Collins, 60, of Massapequa, died on Sept. 9, 1999. He was born in Jamaica, NY and graduated from Power Memorial High School and St. John's University. He served as a Sgt. 1st Class in the US Army Infantry during the Korean War. He received a Commendation and Medal for Meritorious Service. He worked in the Queens County Court System and completed his college edcation at St. John's. He was named Irishman of the Year by the Emerald Society of the Courts of NY. He served in the courts in several positions including public administrator of Queens County and retired in 1992 as chief clerk of the Surrogates Court. He was a Little League Baseball coach and Mustangs football and was a member of the Anicent Order of Hibernians, the Korean War Veterans Association, the Knights of Columbus and an early member of the Massapequa Historical Society. Husband of Phyllis T. Father of Kevin, Michael, Christopher, John, Steven and James Jr. Father-in-law of Nancy, Carolyn, Kelly, Ellen and Jane. Grandfather of Marissa, Ahannon, Michaela, Jaclyn, Steven and Edith. Brother of Maureen Collins and the late Nancy. Arrangements were made by the Massapequa Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Rose of Lima RC Church.
Jacqueline M. Bree, of Massapequa Park, died on Sept. 9, 1999. Wife of Eugene. Mother of Deborah Burke and Barry. Mother-in-law of Joseph Burke and Evelyn Bree. Grandmother of Kevin, Chrissy, Allison, Jonathan and Jennifer. Arrangements were made by the Massapequa Funeral Home. Funeral Mass at St. Rose of Lima RC Church. Interment St. Charles Cemetery.
