The Kiwanis Club of Massapequa recently held their 15th Annual Golf Outing as part of their 50th Anniversary and it was a huge success. All those who attended had a great day of golf, food, and fun.
Massapequa Fuel was the major sponsor for this event but there were also other contributors. John Glozek, Jr., of LI Golfer Magazine, donated LI golf maps, tees, and subscriptions to the magazine.
Funds raised by the golf outing go to the Massapequa Kiwanis Foundation, a 501 C 3 not-for-profit, which then funds youth and sports activities throughout the Massapequa, Seaford, and Plainedge areas. The Kiwanis has key clubs established in each of the three area high schools, where students give of their time to help others less fortunate.
Kiwanis projects and programs include Junior Achievement, the Kiwanis Fishing Bridge, and the Cleanup of the Tackapausha Preserve. Kiwanis and Key Clubs do a lot in the community. Call 785-3945 to find out more and to get involved. Donations can be sent to PO Box 195, Massapequa NY 11758.
