The clinic is open to area residents from 8 to 14 years of age. The instructional camp, run by the former Buffalo Bill nosetackle with assistance from the Massapequa Kiwanis Club, the Town of Oyster Bay and the coaches and staff of the Massapequa Mustangs, teaches children the fundamentals of football and gives them an opportunity to meet pro and college football players. The annual event also includes many prizes, giveaways and refreshments donated by local businesses and organizations.
The Baldingers, Gary, Brian, and Rich, were the only trio of brothers to play in the NFL from 1986 through 1993. The clinic is an opportunity for them to give back something to the community that has supported them through the years.
Monies raised benefit the Massapequa Kiwanis Foundation, which funds youth and sport projects, both school and community sponsored, including key clubs in three area high schools.
