Two local Massapequa Soccer Teams, The Fever and The Massapequa United U-11 won New York State Championship games last weekend at the Soccer Park in Plainview.

The Fever and The Massapequa United U-11 Teams who won their New York State Championship games last weekend.

Both teams have been playing state games since last fall¬a single elimination tournament¬playing teams from the Eastern New York area. The final game for both teams was this past Saturday¬coincidentally, their games were played at the same time and in fields next to each other.

The girls, coached by Aldo Sergovich, won 2-1 against Rockville Centre. Goals were scored by Gina DiMartino and Gigi Giambanco. However, every team member contributed to this magnificent win.

The boys, coached by Jim McDermott, held onto their early 1-0 lead vs. Cold Spring Harbor. Tom Burke scored the winning goal.

Both teams' final minutes were filled with excitement in the stands, with family and friends cheering them onto victory.
