The Massapequa High Girls Lacrosse team on April 21 met the Braves of Syosset for the first time this season, in a match that would determine first place in Conference 1B.

The Chiefs were 5-0 and the Braves 4-0. The winner would stand in first place alone.

The game began with a Syosset goal, but Stephanie Petrucelli evened the score. The score flip-flopped several times ending with the half-time score 4-3, Syosset. it was clear both teams were in a defensive battle.

The second half saw the Braves pull slowly away, scoring four more goals to the Chief's two. The final score was 8-5. Diana Rapacki had four saves, with Jamie Considine, Marin Schlossberg, Danielle Andriano and Collette Carpenter rounding out the Massapequa scoring. These teams will meet again on Thursday, May 13, with a 4 p.m. start at Syosset High for the season finale.

On Saturday, April 24, in a non-conference game, the Chiefs met the Seahawks of Carey High. The first half ended tied at five. However, in this game, it was Massapequa who took the second half. The offense clicked in, scoring six goals to Carey's two. Lindsay Wolf scored three goals, Stephanie Petrucelli and Lisa Torre with two, Kristen Bracco, Chrissie Mark, Megan Porter and Kim Thompson with 1 each. Diana Rapacki had seven saves.

April 28, The Sailors of Oceanside played Massapequa at Massapequa High. The Chiefs took command from the opening draw with a 3-0 lead in the first two minutes. The final score was 11-4, Rapacki had 10 saves and Kelly Ward two. Lindsay Wolf had four goals, Lisa Torre had two with four assists, Danielle Andriano two, and Stephanie Petrucelli, Jamie Considine, Gina Purpora with one goal each.
