The Massapequa Chamber of Commerce is busy planning their third annual Community Festival, which will open on Friday, April 30 and close Sunday, May 2.
The festival will take place at the parking field of the Massapequa Train Station on Sunrise Highway and Broadway. It will include attractions such as clowns, magic acts, karate demonstrations, raffles, rides, a talent show, and various other forms of entertainment. Exhibits and demonstrations will include booths of health practitioners, arts and crafts, business displays, and merchant booths.
The Community Fair is sponsored this year by Island Imaging, ERA Bastone Realty, Zwanger & Pesiri Radiology, and Friendly Software but the chamber is still seeking other sponsors for financial support and donations of merchandise or services. They are still seeking vendors for the festival as well.
The Massapequa Chamber of Commerce believes that being a sponsor or a vendor will help businesses gain more customers by helping to introduce the business to the community. They have stated, "When we all entered business, we realized, that in order to be successful, we had to introduce our products, services or store to new customers each and every day...Why don't you introduce yourself to potential customers at the Massapequa Chamber of Commerce Community Fair."
The fair will also be a great opportunity, not only for the business community, but for the residents of Massapequa. It will offer residents the opportunity to discover what community businesses are open to them as well as offering them an opportunity to relax and have fun with their neighbors.
As most fairs do, the Massapequa Chamber of Commerce Festival will appeal to children with carnival rides, clowns, magic shows, and, of course, food. There will also be Boy Scout and Girl Scout activities and local school events. The younger children will enjoy kiddie rides and pony rides.
Residents of all ages will enjoy the fireworks, the dog show, and the live bands.
On Friday, April 30 the fair will open at 5 p.m. and close at 11 p.m. On Saturday it will run all day, from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. The final day of the festival, Sunday, will begin at 11 a.m. and end at 5 p.m.
If anyone has any questions he or she may call the chamber office at 541-1443 and ask for Gert; Bob Rubino, chamber president; or Festival Chairman Gary Slavin.
