Massapequa Senior Sean Conway placed fourth in the state in the 1,000 meters at the recent Indoor Track and Field Championships at the Carrier Dome in Syracuse, NY. Conway, who will run track and cross country at either Yale or William and Mary, also won a fourth place medal for his 800 meter leg in the inter sectional medley relay. Sean is captain of the boys track team and County Champ in the 1600 meters. This fall he was County Cross Country Champion. This was Conway's fourth trip to the state championships. Conway also was a gold medal winner at last summer's Empire State Games in the 4 by 400 meter relay.

Sophomore Katie Scotidas came in seventh in the state in the 55 meter high hurdles. She is the County Champion in this event. This was Scotidas' second trip to mthe state championships. She was also a silver medalist in the 1998 Empire State Games in Rochester, NY, running the third leg in the 4 by 400 meter relay.
