The Massapequa Rascals U-10 soccer travel team continued their undefeated indoor season with a sweep of the Staten Island United Invitational Tournament on Sunday, Feb. 7.

The Rascals defeated the SI Express 6-0 to start play. They continued their dominance with a 3-0 victory over the United Lasers, the eventual runners-up. They finished with victories over two New Jersey Elite teams from Lyndhurst and Long Beach, scoring 10 goals, while allowing one in those two games.

The Rascals offense was led by a six goal barrage from Samantha Fried, closely followed by multiple goal games from Shannon Rogers, Brittany Butz, Caitlin Trupiano, and Cassie Zdrogeski.

The sparkling defense, led by goalie Jamie Lasota, along with defenders Krystal Cantos, Heather Fosci, Mary Rose Dick, Hannah Skiar, Arianna Kurtin, as usual, were outstanding. Congratulations to the coaches, fine work.

The team sends special thanks to the moms who went way above and beyond to bring their daughters to far away places under difficult circumstances.
