Imagine an entire Friday evening devoted to people who want to know more about Judaism. That is what 'Shabbat Across America' is all about. On March 12, Temple Judea as well as other synagogues in Massapequa will join with hundreds of Jewish congregations and half a million people throughout the United States and Canada for this exciting event.
The community is invited to join the Temple Judea congregation at this very special evening. Come alone or bring family and friends.
'Shabbat Across America' was designed by the National Jewish Outreach Program as an excellent tool for keruv, bringing people close. It is designed especially for the unaffiliated and marginally affiliated Jews.
At Temple Judea in Massapequa, the evening will start with a traditional shabbat dinner at 6:15 p.m. for members of the congregation and the unaffiliated guests. The cost of dinner will be $5 per person for both members and guests.
This will be followed by a learners' service at 8:15 p.m. and then by an oneg shabbat. 'Shabbat Across America' offers Jews across North America a chance to engage in Jewish life and connect to their community.
