If the voters approve on Oct. 20, every taxpayer in all the Massapequas, young and old, will be committed to this $50 million Bond Issue, with Ms. Krakoff and Ms. Nottonson on the Massapequa School Board. Before we vote, the Massapequa community is entitled to know, what project that were recommended to this board were removed from the Bond, and why. The building and grounds committee made several recommendations, and many of those recommendations were removed. What projects did you favor, and what are the projects that you chose to ignore, and why?

There are many senior citizens in this community and there are homeowners without children. Will these people be informed as to why you are spending $1.5 million (noneducational items) teachers faculty and administration rooms? How will these people learn that during the Krakoff/Nottonson years, building and grounds funds have been seriously neglected. while a truly disproportionate amount of the school operating budget has gone to the school union and administrators? These voters without children are well informed at re-election time. Is the Krakoff/Nottonson team going to visit these seniors, and discuss $50 million? Now, our buildings need costly repairs and we cannot keep blaming Albany or Mario Cuomo for that. Some of our school buildings' ceilings were newly replaced, before the leaky overhead roofs were fixed, thereby wasting money and seriously endangering our children, i.e, the Berner building? Is that a Krakoff/Nottonson management decision?

The Fairfield landscaping project cost the taxpayers $20,000. Today, that landscaping is a wasteland of over 35 dead shrubs. Was that known before or after the shrubs were planted? Why is there an unused spigot for a hose right behind those dead shrubs? If this was known before the $20, 000 was invested, then wasted, why did the Krakoff/Nottonson team fail to plan for an irrigation system? What is the board's next landscaping project going to look like, and what is going to be done about these dead shrubs, in a very visible area? If this board mismanages this wasteful project, how much will be wasted out of $50 million. What will the Bond Issue look like a year from now, and the next year? (i.e., leaky roofs, damaged ceilings, dead shrubs and luxurious offices?)

Projects do work as long as the Krakoff/Nottonson team do not do the planning. The new Unqua Habitat looks wonderful and attractive because many children, teachers and parents helped with that project, with a fish pond, waterfalls, many new healthy, green shrubs, bird feeders, etc. Please Ms. Krakoff and Ms. Nottonson, before you take our money, share your information with all the taxpayers, young and old, throughout the Massapequas, before this becomes a bomb issue, and learn how to manage all these projects with our money. Stop the mismanagement and the careless waste. Please Ms. Krakoff and Ms. Nottonson, put the children first and start thinking of all the community, young and old, (That's why you were elected) and not of yourselves and your union friends when you make decision, and spend other people's money.

We need this bond issue, but can we afford to leave the Krakoff/Nottonson team to be responsible for $50 million, with their wasteful track record? Our children and our community deserve better.
