Cassis, of Massapequa Park, died on Aug. 30, 1998. Past president of the Order of AHEPA Constantine Cassis Chapter, Archon of the Ecumenical Patriarchate Order of St. Andrews and honorary past president of the Greek Othodox Cathedral of St. Paul. Husband of Carol. Father of Nicholas and Tina, George and Patricia, Elaine Cassis and Emanuel. Grandfather of Constance, Eve Ann, Constantine, Elene and Georgia. Fredella, of Amityville, formerly of Massapequa, died on Sept. 3, 1998. Husband of Rosemarie. Father of Stefanie and Lawrence. Arrangements were made by the Massapequa Funeral Home. Worfler, of Massapequa Park, died on Sept. 4, 1998. Husband of Rita. Father of Eric, Carole Dupell, Gail Misuraca and Linda Klushmeier. Grandfather of 12. Great-grandfather of two. Arrangements were made by the Charles G. Schmitt Funeral Home, Seaford. Samuel Cohen, 74, of N. Massapequa, died on Sept. 7, 1998. He grew up in the Bronx and was a WWII Army veteran who survived the Battle of the Bulge. He graduated Phi Beta Kappa from City College and earned his doctorate from Columbia University Teachers College.

Mr. Cohen taught social studies in the NYC schools and on LI. eventually becoming superintendent in Lawrence. He retired in 1979 and became executive director of the NC Council of School Superintendents and the Association of Suburban Districts of NYS. He also advised agencies including the educational division of PBS Channel 13.

Mr. Cohen was the husband of Marilyn. Father of Janet Hurwitz, Alan Cohen and Charles Cohen. Grandfather of two. Arrangements were made by Gutterman's Funeral Home, Woodbury.

Herman Michael Stein, of Massapequa Park, died on Sept. 7, 1998. Husband of Lillian. Father of Susan Solomon, Stuart, Jeffrey and Andrew Stein. Brother of Irving Stein, Ethel Parush and Sylvia Gardner. Grandfather and great-grandfather. Arrangements were made by Gutterman's Funeral Home, Woodbury.
