The New York State Parks Golf Guide is currently available at State Senator Charles J. Fuschillo's district office, the local area's representative recently reported.
The guide offers a region by region overview of each of the 27 golf course, operated and maintained within the state parks system.
"Within New York State's parks are some of the most beautifully maintained and scenic golf courses in the state, including the world famous Black Course at Bethpage State Park, home of the 2002 US Open," Fuschillo said. "Tee-off with ocean views at Montauk Downs, challenge your putting at Saratoga Spa's Championship Course, or play 18 holes with panoramic views of the St. Lawrence River. Our state's park system offers beginner and advanced golfers a fine choice of golfing and a wonderful recreational experience."
The guide provides phone numbers, addresses, course history and description, fee information and more. To obtain a copy of it, residents may call Senator Fuschillo's office at 546-4100. Further information about New York State's 152 state parks or 35 state historic sites may be obtained by visiting http://nysparks.state.ny.us, on the Internet, or by writing to State Parks, Albany, New York 12238.
The guide was published and printed for the New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation, and paid for by the American Express Company.
