For me, part of the anxiety that comes with starting a new job stems from wanting to make a good impression on an office full of complete strangers. There's no doubt, that meeting a group of people who seem very comfortable with one another while you can barely find your way to the press room, can be nerve-racking. And it isn't every job that requires you to introduce yourself to an entire community. Thankfully, this is an introduction I'm very happy to make.
As you might already know, the former editor, Eric Usinger, has left to further pursue his education. I'm often told his are big shoes to fill and I congratulate him on his success. Still, while many people are sorry to see him go, I must admit his leaving has afforded me a great opportunity.
It's my goal to continue the Massapequan Observer's tradition of being a reliable source for facts and information that affect residents every day. I'm looking forward to getting to know the people of this community and hope to make a positive and lasting contribution.
I encourage you to feel free to contact me with suggestions, ideas and opinions on a regular basis. It is important that you, the reader, let me know what issues are important to you by writing or calling me.
