WFAN Sports Radio personalities will compete with members of the New York Islanders and the Town of Oyster Bay Senior All-Stars at the Sixth Annual Celebrity Softball Game to benefit Alzheimer's programs in Nassau County. The game will take place on Thursday evening, July 9, at 7:30 p.m. in the front field at John J. Burns Park on Merrick Road in Massapequa Park.
The softball game is sponsored by FANS (Friends Assisting Nassau Seniors), a not-for-profit organization which acts in cooperation with the Nassau County Department of Senior Citizen Affairs to enhance the quality of life for senior citizens.
There will be no admission charge for this event. Raffles will be sold for autographed New York Islanders memorabilia, televisions and other items.
All proceeds will be used to benefit two Alzheimer's Day Care programs which are partially funded by the Department: "Our Space" operated by Herricks Union Free School District at the Herricks Community Center, and "The Club" a program of the Peninsula Counseling Center in Hewlett.
