A golf outing to benefit little Colleen Clarke of North Massapequa will be held on Monday, July 27, at the Bergen Point Country Club, West Babylon.
The event is sponsored by the Chamber of Commerce of the Massapequas and registration for the day, which includes a full day of golf, cocktails and dinner, is underway.
Colleen Clarke, 5, suffers from a rare form of muscular dystrophy that impairs her ability to walk and stand. The medical bills for her care keep mounting and a fund has been established to help the family with the cost of her care.
George Vignola, a past president of the Chamber, heard about the plight of the Clarke family at his local parish and brought the family to the attention of the chamber, which has held several fund raisers, including a golf outing last year.
This year's golf outing begins with a tee off time and continental breakfast at 6:30 a.m., and a shotgun start at 8 a.m. A cocktail hour and dinner follows at Kleinfelder's Forest Inn in Massapequa at 4 p.m.
Golf and dinner is $135 per person, cocktails and dinner only, $45. Sponsorships are also being offered for $100.
Checks can be made out to the Little Colleen Clarke Fund, c/o Paul Sheppard, 100 Crossways Park West, Suite 210, Woodbury, NY 11797. Contributions are tax deductible to the extent allowed under law.
