For the fourth year, physically challenged individuals will be able to participate in a nationally-recognized First Swing Golf Clinic hosted by Brunswick Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Hospital in Amityville. Sponsored by the National Amputee Golf Association and the Eastern Amputee Golf Association, the free clinic is set for Wednesday, June 17.

During a morning session, physical, occupational and recreational therapists and golf professionals will learn from qualified instructors how to adapt golf swing techniques, balance and weight shifting to the needs of the physically challenged. During the afternoon session, which will be held at the Golden Bear Golf Center in Farmingdale, the therapists and golf pros will show physically challenged men and women how to adapt these techniques to their own abilities. Physically challenged individuals and rehabilitation therapists can receive registration information by calling the Brunswick Hospital Center Outreach Services Department at 789-7778.
