Kamp Kiwanis, located in Taberg, will open its 1998 camping season in June for hundreds of disadvantaged girls and boys ages 8-14. Kamp Kiwanis is owned and operated by the New York District Kiwanis Foundation and, for the fourth consecutive year, has opened up their camp to any community organization that would like to send a deserving youngster for a one-week stay at this rustic "American Camping Association" accredited camp.
Kamp Kiwanis offers numerous programs designed to provide fun and adventure and strives to meet the needs of Kampers individually or as a group. Activities include arts and crafts, swimming, canoeing, hiking, softball, rainy day programs, campfires, fishing and much more. And, there are no costs to parents or guardians.
Nearly 1,000 youngsters enjoyed their week at Kamp Kiwanis in 1997.
For further information about sponsoring a deserving girl or boy, contact your community's Kiwanis club president or Ken Doolittle, executive director at 315-336-4568.
