This Tuesday, elections will be held for the office of Water Commissioner in the Massapaequa Water District and Fire Commissioner in the Massapequa Fire District.
In the Massapequa Water District incumbent commissioner John Caruso is being challenged by James McDonugh. The position carries a three year term and commissioners are unsalaried. All residents of the Massapequa Water District, over the age of 18, are eligible to vote in the election. Ballots will be cast at 84 Grand Ave., Massapequa from 4 to 9 p.m.
In the Massapequa Fire District John Muller is challenging incumbent commissioner Denis Molloy for the office of Fire Commissioner. Commissioners serve for five years. All residents over 18 are eligible to vote. Ballots can be cast at any of the three fire houses, located on Hicksville Road, Merrick Road, and Front St., from 2 to 9 p.m.
Both elections will take place on Tuesday, Dec. 9. but each district is independent of the other.
