Three of the country’s best high school lacrosse teams will compete in this year’s Lead The Way Day of Lacrosse Champions at St. Anthony’s High School in Huntington. The competing boy’s teams are: St. Anthony’s, the host and co-sponsor of the day, vs. Connecticut’s New Canaan High School, Chaminade High School vs. Yorktown High School and Manhasset High School will take on Darien High School, another Connecticut school.
The day begins with an 8:30 a.m. Mass at St. Anthony’s. At 11:15 a.m. The US Special Operations Daggers and Rangers will parachute to center field. Four local past and present US Heroes will be honored. The first game begins at high noon when the St. Anthony’s Friars take on the New Canaan Rams. The main gates open at 10:30 a.m.
Advance ticket purchase is strongly suggested as the last Lead the Way Lacrosse Day of Champions sold out in advance. Tickets may be purchased at: www.lead thewayfund.org/events, adults are $15 and children under 17 are $8. Major credit cards are accepted. All costs from the event including the purchase of tickets are tax deductible as allowed by law.
The Lead the Way Day of Lacrosse Champions will be played rain or shine. More details are available on line.
