On Thursday, April 1, Manhasset Varsity Girl’s Lacrosse team, coached by Danielle Gallagher, played an exciting game on their home turf. They defeated Notre Dame Prep (ranked 4th in the nation), from Baltimore, Maryland.
The score at half time was 8-7 and Manhasset was down by 1. In the second half, Sara Barcia scored an important goal on a rebounded shot and made a crucial play by keeping the ball in bounds allowing Manhasset to keep possession and tie the game. In the last minute of play down by one goal Kerri Fleishhacker scored the tying goal and Halle Majorana on a free position shot scored the go ahead goal with 30 seconds left. Ali Perez, Catherine Avalone, Jenny Vlahos also scored for Manhasset during the game. Jen Levy and Grace Morelli split the game as goalie with 5 saves each. The final score was 11-10.
