The Manhasset Boys Swim Team competed in the Nassau County Swim Championship on Monday, Feb. 11. After a strong Division showing, Manhasset’s swimmers seemed to be peaking at the right time. The Indians had a strong showing of 10 County Qualifiers competing in the days’ event. Their goal was to be competitive with Nassau’s best.
In the meet’s opening event, 200yd Medley Relay, The Manhasset team of Conor Beil, Andrew Chin, Damien Quinn and Alex Chee set a new school record time of 1:43.46 to finish fifth in Nassau County.
Throughout the meet, Manhasset swimmers posted many personal best times and set two new additional team records. The 200yd Free Relay team of Andrew Chin, Damien Quinn, Alex Chee and Sean Earley set a new record time of 1:33.15, to finish fifth in Nassau County. In the next event, the 100yd Backstroke, freshman Conor Beil set a new school record time of 58.84, eclipsing the previous mark of 59.40 held by Steve Morris in 1988.
When the final event (the 400 Free Relay) was complete and the scores were read, the Manhasset team was excited about their accomplishment. The team finished in sixth place overall in Nassau County. There are 24 teams that compete in Nassau. It is the best County finish for the Indians in over a decade.

100yd Breaststroke: Andrew Chin 1:02.97
Earning All-Conference Honors are Conor Beil, Alex Chee, Andrew Chin, Sean Earley and Damien Quinn.
