On June 4, the Seventh Grade Girls’ LISGYLL Lacrosse Team completed their undefeated season with an 11-4 win over Massapequa. Having won the Western Conference title against Wantagh on May 31, the determined team came on strong during another rainy game to beat the Eastern Conference Champs.
Their season consisted of wins against Garden City White, Rockville Center Red, Long Beach, Seaford, Jericho, Wantagh and Cold Spring Harbor.
Coached by a group of highly dedicated parents, these girls have been playing lacrosse together since first grade and were determined to continue their PAL ride in seventh grade in addition to playing lacrosse for their school teams. Winning the Long Island Senior Girls Youth Lacrosse League Championship was the perfect culmination of seven years of clinics, night practices, early morning indoor winter games, cold and rainy late away games, and a lot of fun days playing lacrosse.
Congratulations to the Champs: Marisa Aliprantis, Ann Marie Ardito, Alex Cirella, Erin Coleman, Kelsey Connolly, Jenny Cook, Angelica Cramer, Haley Crosson, Jacklyn D’Alleva, Cara DePippo, Alexandra Gallo, Riley Garcia, Hope Gillan, Julia Glynn, Kelly Kenlon, Brigid Kenny, Nicole Koskovolis, Emily Koufakis, Abby Kucharczyk, Vivian Liu, Kerianne Moran, Paulina Parsons, Madeline Quinn, Stacy Rubertone, Micaela Shilds, Natalie Stefan, and Catherine Weppler. And, thank you to the amazing coaches and fathers: Jimmy Kenny, Jorge Garcia, Roger Coleman, Kevin Cook and Mike Gallo. Their skills work, knowledge of the game and dedication to this great group of girls coupled with a tenacious team who wanted to play made this a winning combination.
Congratulations to all.
