On Monday, Oct. 26, three of Manhasset’s young star cross-country runners won county championships at Bethpage Park and a fourth runner was All-County.
Week two and the Church of St. Mary CYO girls program is already in high gear. Lots of action this past weekend.
Tuesday’s Children is calling all triathletes who have interest in entering the Nautica NYC Triathlon, an Olympic Distance race consisting of a 1500m swim, a 40k bike, and a 10K run.
On Saturday, Oct. 2, at the 39th Annual St. Anthony’s Invitational Cross-Country Race, Manhasset’s varsity cross-country team outran 20 top teams from Long Island, New York City and other areas of New York State.
What a weekend we had last week. After adults worked all week and children toiled in school, Mother Nature decided to reward all our efforts with a weekend filled with high winds, tons of rain and temperatures that were more normal for mid-December than for late October. Such are the vagaries of weather as those who spend a lot of time on the water know all too well.
The Manhasset High School Marching Band and Color Guard traveled to Bergenfield, N.J. on Sunday Oct. 11, and encountered their most difficult competition yet. Five bands made up Division 1, each anxious to perform their best as the season reaches its final stretch.
The Manhasset Booster Club is proud to sponsor the 2nd Manhasset Athletic Hall of Fame (HOF) at Manhasset High School on Saturday, Nov. 21 from 5 to 7 p.m.
The air was crisp and the sun was shinning for Manhasset’s first annual Principal’s Classic Tennis Tournament held on Saturday, Sept. 26 at the Manhasset High School tennis courts. Thirty-two students in grades 7-12 came together at 10 o’clock to participate in this fundraising event to benefit the Court of Champions Tennis Project.
Against Breast Cancer will be held Sunday, Oct. 25. Please join the Manhasset and surrounding communities as they celebrate and remember those who have been touched by this disease, while raising monies toward research and supportive programs.
The Manhasset High School Marching Band and Color Guard, took first place on Saturday with their eagerly awaited, debut performance of the music from West Side Story. The first competition of the season was held at Pequannock High School in New Jersey and hosted over 20 bands from the New York and New Jersey area.
