Nine-year-old Daniel Cataldo of Manhasset recently performed his first solo piano recital at the Jeanne Rimsky Theater in Port Washington. Daniel, a fourth grader at Shelter Rock Elementary School, has been studying piano at the Bottazzi School of Music for five years, and has participated in many student concerts in venues including Weill Hall at Carnegie Hall.
“Daniel’s program was varied and showcased his versatility at the instrument as well as his wide-ranging musical capacities,” said Walter F. Aparicio, a pianist who holds an Advanced Certificate in Music Education from New York University and a Masters of Music in Piano Performance from Manhattan School of Music.
The program included Bach’s “Solfeggietto” and Beaumont’s “Tarantelle,” among pieces by Beethoven, Mozart and Aram Khachaturian.
