If you are involved with athletics in Manhasset-whether you have a child who plays sports, you are a coach or an observer-you quickly realize that the athletic infrastructure in Manhasset is inadequate.
The problems are numerous: we have too few fields; many of our athletic fields, buildings and facilities are old and need updating; in many cases we lack state-of-the-art equipment; we lack some basic necessities like public fields and amenities enjoyed by others in far less affluent communities. This not only impacts our school teams, but the PAL and youth programs and the community as a whole.
In a community starved for outdoor space an opportunity exists in our own backyard to gain much needed valuable usable space: Valley Pond Park.
Valley Pond Park is an underutilized park that has fallen to disarray. We need to change that. We need the Town of North Hempstead Supervisor Jon Kaiman to hear us. We need to let him know “that we want this park” restored and revitalized so that it can be a vibrant and utilized park for the families of Manhasset and the Town of North Hempstead.
Do not let this opportunity slip through our fingers, show your support for the restoration of Valley Pond Park by clicking the link http://www.ipetitions.com/petition/ValleyPondPark/index.html, reading the petition and letting Supervisor Kaiman know that you support the revitalization and restoration of Valley Pond Park.
