Thank you for the fair and balanced article on government consolidation that you reported in the July 23 Manhasset Press issue.

There has been a plethora of misinformation about and over-simplification of facts concerning this topic, and your article set standards not shown in other more widely circulated news media.

It is important that taxpayers don’t go down a path of spending their and their neighbors’ taxpayer dollars unnecessarily–especially in this economic environment when every dollar counts and when village governments are being asked to do more with fewer resources. Your journalism went a long way to educating the public on the pitfalls of baseless assumptions.
