Harry Stafford of Somers, formerly Manhasset, died peacefully in his sleep on March 25, 2012 at the Waterview Nursing Center in Purdys, NY. He was born on March 17, 1926 in New York City. He proudly served in the U.S. Navy on the USS Neal A. Scott (DE 769) in WWII.
After graduating from Brooklyn College, he began his career as a CPA. After 25 years with the firm of Stafford and Margulis, CPA, he practiced privately until he retired to Somers.
He is survived by his loving wife, Anne and his sister Florence Grebow (Seymour) of Delray Beach, FL. In addition, his children from his first marriage, Robert Dunn of Brooklyn Heights, Rana Dunn of Bayside and Richard Dunn of Miami, FL and his wife’s children, Patricia Trapp (Walter) of Port Washington, Jeanne Erzinger (Gene) of Little Egg Harbor, NJ and Matthew D’Aguanno (Vicki) of Port Washington. He took great pleasure and pride in his eight grandchildren.
Affectionately known as Hal, he lived a long and successful life and will be lovingly remembered and missed by his family and friends.
A memorial service was held at Riverside Memorial Chapel in Mt. Vernon, NY. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Heart Association or a charity of your choice.
