Obituary: Lorraine Luciani Ralph

Lorraine Luciani Ralph, of Southampton, and formerly of Manhasset, passed away on March 2, 2011. She was the devoted daughter of predeceased Tom and Rose Luciani. Survived by, and cherished cherished wife of Skip, loving mother of four daughters; Caroline, Kiki, Liz, and Melissa, mother-in-law of Sean Kenlon and Mark Ughetta, and grandmother extraordinaire of Kade, Kelly, Caroline Rose, Kyle Kenlon and Jack Ughetta.

Lorraine lived life to the fullest and thoroughly enjoyed any chance to spend time with her beloved friends and family. She will be remembered for her generous spirit, warm heart, sense of humor and exuberant laughter.

Lorraine was an active member of the community, both in Manhasset and Southampton, working with many organizations including the Manhasset School Community Association, and more recently with the Southampton Historical Museum and the Village of Southampton Beautification Committee.

As a member of Manhasset Bay Yacht Club since 1975, she volunteered her time and energy to various committees and was revered for heading up the Entertainment Committee, and making it fun for all. She was also an enthusiastic entrepreneur. With her business, Take a Bough, she filled tabletop Christmas trees with beautifully abundant flowers. Her latest venture included running a special boutique hotel and antique shop in the heart of Southampton Village, The 1708 House and 25 Hampton Road respectively. She and her husband Skip restored and have been innkeepers of the historic home for nearly 20 years. Her decorating touches and artistic eye created a truly magical place and wonderful get-away for many. She owned and operated 25 Hampton Road for 10 years, a successful antique shop around the corner from the Bed & Breakfast.

She touched the lives of many and will be greatly missed by all who knew her, both in Manhasset and Southampton.
