The League of Women Voters of Port Washington-Manhasset and of Great Neck invite the community to “Meet the Candidates Night” on Wednesday, Oct. 21, at the Unitarian Universalist Congregation, 48 Shelter Rock Road, Manhasset, from 7 to 9:30 p.m. There will be six sets of candidates for Nassau County and Town of North Hempstead offices present to answer questions.
Nassau County candidates in attendance will include Judi Bosworth (D), and Gary H. Stark (R), candidates for the 10th Legislative District; and Wayne H. Wink Jr. (D) and Jeffrey M. Losquadro (R), candidates for the 11th Legislative District.
In Town of North Hempstead races, the candidates for Supervisor are Jon Kaiman (D), and Lee Tu (R). Candidates for 3rd District Court, Sondra Pardes (D), and Harry DeMell (R), have been invited to speak as well as candidates for Town Clerk, Leslie Gross (D), and Jon Paul Wicks (R) and for the Town of North Hempstead’s District 5 Council seat, Lee Seeman (D), and Louis F. Chisari (R).
Each candidate will make an opening statement, answer questions from the audience, and make a brief closing statement. Judy Temkin Jacobson, the league’s director of Voter Service, said, “The league provides this forum so that our community has an opportunity to become informed before voting on Tuesday, Nov. 3. It promises to be an interesting evening."
