North Shore University Hospital will hold a free support group and education program for patients with Parkinson’s disease, movement disorders and other conditions considering deep brain stimulation (DBS), a minimally invasive neurosurgical procedure to relieve tremors and other symptoms. The Pregnancy and Infant loss Support Program at North Shore University Hospital is sponsoring a special program for bereaved parents who have experienced a pregnancy or infant loss. John R. Bolton, a distinguished attorney and a riveting speaker, currently serving as a senior fellow at the American Enterprise Institute. Before coming to AEI, Ambassador Bolton was the US permanent representative to the United Nations. Active Seniors of Manhasset meets every Tuesday from 11:30 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. in rented quarters at the Unitarian Church on Shelter Rock Rd. Phyllis Becker is its director and leads the group in its activities including luncheons at local restaurants. Because many of the group no longer drive, bus transportation is available.
