Pharmaceutical Collection Day

In Manhasset from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. @ MPD Parking Lot, Manhasset Ave. Keep your homes safer, drop Off all your expired or unused pharmaceuticals/ medications. If you miss this event, the Nassau County Police Department facility at 100 Community Drive always has a Pharmaceutical Collection box in the lobby.

Collection for the Troops

The American Legion Auxiliary Manhasset Unit 304 is collecting hard candy, gum, baby wipes, water bottle powdered mixes, sunscreen products, chap sticks, travel size toiletries, wisps (the waterless toothbrush/toothpaste) and granola/snack bars for the 3-71 Cavalry, 10th Mountain Division recently deployed to Afghanistan. Items can be brought to the Legion Hall (Bayview Ave) from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Holiday Boutique and Craft Fair

The Ruth Circle of the Church of Our Saviour, Lutheran, 1901 Northern Boulevard, Manhasset, (across from Crate & Barrel) holds its 38th annual fair from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. There will be handcrafted Christmas and gift items; Bake Shop; Country Store with homemade pickles, jams, and fudge; large variety of Frozen soups to go; Attic Treasures; Toys, books, games; refreshments, famous lunch at the German-American Cafe´ will feature bratwurst and homemade chicken and potato salad and pea soup, topped off with home baked desserts. The Manhasset Booster Club will hold its induction ceremony from 6 - 8 p.m. in the Manhasset High School Gymnasium.  All are welcome and encouraged to join. Ticket prices are $25 per adult and $10 per student  child.  Refreshments will be served as well as a “Taste of Manhasset” by local restaurant La Coquille.

Sixth Annual “A Run Down Hero Highway”

This patriotic and family-friendly 5k run/walk/stroll honors local hero Sgt. James J. Regan, and helps raise money for the Lead The Way Fund.
