Jose Moledo, age 51, died at his Manhasset home on April 2, 2009 after a lengthy battle with melanoma. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Laurie, two children, Daniel and Michelle, parents, Luciana and Florentino Moledo and sister Norma Moledo-Katimaris.

Visitation was held at Fairchild Sons, 1570 Northern Boulevard, Manhasset, NY on April 3. The funeral Mass was April 4 at St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church, 1300 Northern Boulevard, Manhasset.
Kathryn Bossler Childs died at her home in Laurel, NY on March 28, 2009. She was 77 years old.
Born in Flushing, NY, on June 17, 1931 to Philip and Louise (nee Koenig) Bossler, she was a graduate of Flushing High School and Skidmore College, Class of 1952.
For 40 years, she was a resident of Manhasset. She spent all her summers on the North Fork and, for the last five years, was a full-time resident there at her summer house.
Predeceased by her husband Kenneth Childs; she is survived by a son Kenneth; a daughter Kathryn; a sister Louise; a daughter-in-law Emily and two grandchildren Philip and Kristen.
The family received friends on Saturday evening, April 4, at the DeFriest-Grattan Funeral Home, Mattituck, LI. Reverend Daniel Harris officiated. The Rite of Committal was private.
Joan Hammonds Varner, born March 25, 1930 in New York City, passed away on April 1, 2009 in Glen Cove. Her mother and father ran an orphanage on 104th Street in New York City called Stuart House and her unique childhood saw her sharing her meals with 150 children and spending summers with them on a large farm in Windham, NY.
Joan entered Davis Elkins College in Elkins, WV in 1947 where she met her future husband Harold (Hap) Varner. They were married Feb. 12, 1949 and recently celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary.
Joan moved to Manhasset in 1964 and lived there for 38 years. Her five children are all graduates of Manhasset High School. She moved to Glen Cove in 2002. Joan was a member of the Creek Club in Locust Valley since 1972.
Joan is survived by her loving husband, Hap; her devoted children William, James, Laura, Jeff and Paul; her son-in-law John Williams and daughters-in-law Susan, Paula and Pam; and her adoring grandchildren Catherine, Elizabeth, Taylor, Claudia, Paul Jr. and Joseph.
She will be missed by one and all for her unique kindness and devotion to family, friends and community.
