On Feb. 8 at Suffolk Community College Manhasset's Joe Nassirian won the Nassau County championship (9.59.2) in the 3,200 meters. Joe kicked away from a strong field in the last two laps for a strong win. The other county championship came from the 4 x 800 meter relay team of Joe Zahn (11), Andrew Choi (11), Patrick Love (11) and senior captain David Knowles (12) who ran 8 minutes 38.5 seconds to win by six seconds.

Other all-county athletes and county championship scorers were David Knowles (third in 1600 meters); Kyle Howell (second in high jump 5' 8") (fifth in triple jump) and 4 x 400 meter relay team of Charlie Howell (11), Mario Gaglioano (11), Theo Baktidy (12) and Peter Massey (11) who finished fifth.

On Wednesday night, Feb. 11, Manhasset's senior captain, David Knowles, ran the best race of his career at the Nassau County State Qualifier Meet to qualify for the New York state championships (1,600 meters) at Cornell University on March 7.
