Three Manhasset third-grade girls were chosen for the Long Island Junior Rough Riders soccer team. They were selected from over 75 girls who tried out, over four tryout periods, for the Long Islands premier U-9 soccer club. The Rough Riders franchise is dedicated to identifying and properly developing elite level players who will compete in regional tournaments outside the Long Island area. The girls will train throughout the winter to compete in tournaments in the spring and summer of '09.

Halle Palmedo, Ariana Aliprantis and Maggie Beresheim would like to thank Mike Butler's 5 Star Soccer Academy, Albertson Soccer Club, and Manhasset Soccer Club for all their help in preparing them to be able to compete at this level.
