Barbara Parkinson Ludeman
Barbara Parkinson Ludeman, 70, former resident of Plandome and Tom's Point, Port Washington, died after a short battle with lung cancer in Clearwater, FL, on Sept. 8, 2008. Barbara was a 1955 graduate of Manhasset High School, an alumna of Northwestern University and earned a master's degree in literary science at C.W. Post College. She was the librarian at the Westbury High School for many years. Her many accomplishments included singing in the St. Mary's Choir for more than 40 years, volunteering in the St. Francis Hospital Emergency Room for over 5,000 hours and serving as a chaplain in St. Francis Hospital's Pastoral Care Office for the past several years. She participated in several book clubs on Long Island and Florida, several prayer groups and for many years continued her studies in religion, pastoral care, the arts and music. An avid traveler, she visited many countries with friends and family. Barbara is survived by her daughter Elizabeth Kraker of Indian Rocks Beach, FL and her grandson Michael Kraker of State College, PA. A Memorial Requiem Mass was concelebrated on Saturday, Sept. 20, at St. Mary's Church, Manhasset by the Rev. John Denniston and Msgr. John McCann. The choir sang in tribute.

Thomas Bernard Clark, Sr., founder and proprietor of Rainbow Pest Control, Inc., passed away on Sept. 15 at the age of 78. He had been battling Aplastic Anemia for the last year and a half. During his more than four decades in the pest control business, he inspected and treated thousands of homes all over Long Island, especially on the North Shore, many in Manhasset. Additionally, he and his wife volunteered for several organizations in Manhasset. He was well known and widely respected among the Island's real estate agents, and was called upon often to testify as an expert witness.

Thomas Clark was: husband of Margaret; father of John (Teresa); Thomas, Jr., (Daun); Michael (Theresa); Anthony; and seven grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that contributions be made in Tom's name to Winthrop-University Hematology/Oncology, 159 First Street, Mineola, NY 11501 or St. Aidan's Parish Outreach, 508 Willis Avenue, Williston Park, NY 11596. The Clark family would also like to request donations of blood and platelets to your nearest blood bank.
