Opinion

The only way to prevent large delivery trucks from double parking on Plandome Road is to allot six parking spots on each block for "Deliveries Only"; which should make Manhasset residents very happy. Otherwise, delivery trucks larger than a van have no other choice than to double park. There are rarely, if ever, enough parking spaces available, in a row, for a truck that size to park. Can you imagine the traffic jam while he/she attempted to do so if there were?

The alternative is to eliminate all establishments that would require deliveries of food, clothing, retail merchandise, stationery supplies and so on from doing business on Plandome Road. Of course that would eliminate all business as well.

A little common sense is required here. Last week's photo of the oversized delivery truck double parked making a delivery and others like it should never have appeared in "What's Wrong With This Photo?" It's an unavoidable fact of life and we can handle it.
