Something is going to be built on the Christ Church property because the church needs to divest itself of an aging structure that is financially draining. Rather than more retail or an office building, senior housing seems to be an attractive choice. It's not realistic to think that either the town, school district or private foundation is going to make an offer and then set the land aside to remain vacant. The location doesn't lend itself to a park or playing field. If the developer can re-do or reduce the design to make it more aesthetically pleasing to the neighbors, there might be more support.
