As the person in overall charge of the annual Manhasset Children's Circus for many years, I have been remiss in failing to publicly thank you for your work behalf of the Manhasset Rotary Foundation and the youngest of Manhasset's children. I am attempting to rectify this by sending a copy of this letter to the Manhasset Press for publication.

Eight or nine years ago, when you were president of the Manhasset Rotary Club, you, Joe Marino and I did much of the original spade work in setting up the circus project. We weren't sure it would work because of permits, funds needed, location, etc., but we pushed on.

Thereafter, and for seven or eight years (up to the present), you facilitated the finding of locations on school grounds and overcame difficulties involved. You also arranged for the composition, printing and distribution of circus fliers, programs and publicity. You also nicely arranged for the transportation of children who needed it, as well as for their happy circus goodies.

The circus, free for children of grades six and under, gave the cheering and howling kids many a great time.

I realize that this effort was (and is) related to your job as person in charge of public relations for the school district but your efforts far exceeded those duties.
