Opinion

I brought my wife and toddler daughter to the Memorial Day Parade and it had been 11 years since I attended as a member of Manhasset-Lakeville Fire Department's Ambulance Unit. Although I had to resign my position in the Department due to health issues, I have not forgotten my five years with the unit. I just wanted to say how wonderful it felt to be back in my hometown cheering for the veterans, community groups and of course, the M-L FD. I want to commend the American Legion for doing a fine job and I am sure that my father, Alfred Gallo, deceased member of Post 304, was looking down from above with pride.
