Opinion

As many of you know, Keep Manhasset Beautiful is a grass-roots organization dedicated to a cleaner, greener and more beautiful Manhasset. Our goals include litter prevention, litter cleanup and the beautification of our wonderful community.

This is a reminder that our first cleanup event will be held on Saturday, May 17. We will meet at a local spot at 9 a.m. and send groups of volunteers to clean designated areas in our community. We're asking everyone to wear green T-shirts that day (thanks to Mary L. for that great idea!). More details will follow by email a week before the big day.

Several enthusiastic residents have already signed up. If you or anyone you know is interested in helping us keep our town clean and green, please email us at keepmanhassetbeautiful@gmail.com to register.

Our goal for the cleanup- the first of many, we hope-is not only to pick up litter, but to send a message to our community and raise awareness about keeping Manhasset clean, green and beautiful.

To learn more about Keep Manhasset Beautiful please visit us at www.keepmanhassetbeautiful.org or just send us a quick email. We'd love to hear your thoughts or suggestions.

Thank you for helping Keep Manhasset Beautiful!
