Congratulations to Joe Vella, Johnny Hannon, and James Carr for being selected for the High School Hockey League of Nassau County All-Star team. The boys play from the Manhasset Middle School hockey team, which is a club hockey team made up mostly of Manhasset sixth through eighth grade boys.
Forward Joe Vella had a stellar season finishing sixth in the league in scoring. He led the team with 36 goals and 11 assists, totaling 45 points. Joe's season highlights included a 6-goal performance in a game the team had to win to remain in the playoff hunt. Defenseman Johnny Hannon, with his excellent skating and stick handling skills and hockey smarts, showed game after game why he is one of the league's best defensemen. Johnny also racked up 10 points this season, with five goals and five assists. Goalie James Carr, in his second season between the pipes, improved with each game played. No doubt his best play was during the team's tough loss to Massapequa in the first game of the playoffs.
Congratulations to the boys for their commitment and all their hard work.
